MAGNA-TUSK

Aged IVORY GRIPS

Brand New

ORIGINAL 1858 Remington Revolvers:

These grips WILL
FIT
the ORIGINAL model 1858 Remington Revolvers
with the standard 3-3/16” tall grip.  These
were made by the firm of Eliphalet Remington & Sons from approx. 1863 –
1875, and are also known as the New Model Army (.44 Cal.), and Navy (.36 Cal).  These revolvers were used extensively during
the American Civil War and were second only to Colt’s offerings.

PLEASE NOTE:  Remington used a gripframe
smaller than these on a few of their early .36 cal. Navy revolvers.  The grips in this listing measure right
around 3-3/16” from the base to the extreme upper point.  Please double check the measurements of your
existing grips or gripframe to make sure you have the more common 3-3/16”
measurement prior to ordering.

Also, please note that
these grips are made only for ORIGINAL Remington made revolvers and WILL
NOT FIT
modern reproductions made by Uberti, Pietta, Armi San
Marco, Euroarms, or any other makers.  If you have a Uberti or Pietta
revolvers, we also have grips for these listed.
Please let us know if you need help finding them, or if you have any
questions.  We are happy to help.

Arizona Custom Grips

About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade”
Ivory Grips:

Magna-Tusk™ Ivory grips, an exclusive
of Arizona Custom Grips, are made out of our premium high-grade,
ultra-high density Ivory material to improve on the inherent fragility and
weakness of standard Bonded Ivory, used on just about all factory and regular
aftermarket ivory grips today.  Standard
Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over
time with repeated use and handling.  Magna-Tusk™
is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest
alternative Ivory grip material available today, while still retaining the
pristine look of real ivory.  They are not cast or made out of an
inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense, carefully milled out
of a solid block, one at a time.
Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and
oil resistant.  It is flame and heat resistant, will not melt like
Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength,
durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials.  Unlike
with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no
danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in
the heat.  It is produced with outstanding aesthetic properties and
mechanical performance.  When aged with our exclusive aging process,
it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details
which most experts cannot tell apart from the real thing.  In
addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail
for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips.

About Our Aging Process:

We
go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory grips not only look similar to real aged ivory, but in fact look
identical to the real thing.  Magna-Tusk, because of the quality materials
used, will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made
today.  Although much more difficult to produce
than “uniform” colored grips, through a special process these grips are slowly
and laboriously mottled, variegated, and weathered to look like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic
minute details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers
which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West.  No two are the same.  Our process produces an authentic appearance
and genuine patina which extends deep into the surface, just like real aged
ivory.
Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth,
but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied
coating.
With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts
cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old
original.  While the quality difference
is somewhat noticeable in the photos, due to the difficulties of capturing the exact
colors and hues of these grips with a camera, the difference is even more
apparent when seen and handled in person.
Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who
take their grips to the range or club, where the quality difference is
immediately seen and appreciated by others.  We are also capable of producing them with a
“clean” aged look if required (i.e., without the mottling, etc.), although they
do not look as authentic as our regular aging process.

If
you are interested in ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both
sets together, so we can ensure a good matchup.

Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their
own.
With our exclusive aging process, these grips
are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over
time.  The more these grips are handled
and used, the better they look!
