two-PIECE (with SCREWHOLE) STYLE
THIS
AUCTION IS FOR OUR TWO-PIECE (SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS. SEE BELOW.
********
Note:
Two-Piece grips, in addition to a visible screw, have a grip pin installed in
the frame to help hold them in place.
One-Piece grips (grips with no visible screw) have a spacer installed
between the panels, with no grip pin. BOTH
styles of our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip
frame. See below.
One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips
which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a single user
installed spacer between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the
use of a screw. Preferred by many
collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style grips
are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and
strap backwards. Reinstallation is in
reverse order. Our One-Piece grips will
work on either style gripframe (either One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip
frames). Fully illustrated instructions
included for easy, quick installation.
Alternatively, our Two-Piece style
grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of
quick grip removal. Unlike with
One-Piece grips, the backstrap need not be removed to remove the grips for
cleaning and maintenance of the revolver.
Our Two-Piece grips include a free Conversion kit (allowing their use on One-Piece style frames) which
replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows
the grips to lock up tight, allowing no movement. This
requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the
ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your
revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were
also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical
design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many
collectors.
Fully illustrated, detailed instructions
are included with each set of grips. 22010345

What these will fit:
This auction is for a
set of Genuine Magna-Tusk™ grips for the ARMI SAN MARCO Model
1873 Single Action Army SAA revolvers.
Note: Please note that these grips are made to
fit ONLY the ARMI SAN MARCO revolvers, with the standard sized “plowhandle”
gripframe. These grips are around 3-1/16" to 3-1/8” tall, depending
on how you hold your tape, ruler, or caliper. They will NOT fit anything with a
Bisley, Birdshead, Thunderer or Lightning style gripframe, which use a
completely different shaped grip from the ones shown in the photos. Also
please note that these will NOT
fit other makes and models of revolvers from other manufacturers (Colt, Ruger, Uberti, Pietta, etc.).
If you have a different
make of revolver and cannot find what you need, please contact us for
help.
For an additional
charge, custom fitting is another option.
Please contact us for further details. 10312000
A note on the Italian-produced

The Italian firms, located in Northern
Italy, have been making SAA style revolvers now for well over a half century,
and have made numerous makes and models and grip frame profiles with varying
configurations over the years. We have

Italian gunmaking firms. Our
experienced makers go to great lengths to ensure an exacting fit, including
utilizing modern precision CNC production techniques, as well as incorporating
old-time hand tuning and hand checking the fit of every grip on our reference
frames prior to leaving our factory. We
have a long list of many satisfied customers in the shooting industry who have
purchased grips to use in a wide variety of applications, and we can safely and

Arizona Custom Grips
About Magna-Tusk™ Ivory
and Stag Grips:
Magna-Tusk™ Ivory and Stag grips, a
product of Arizona Custom Grips, are manufactured out of our
high-grade, high density ivory material designed exclusively as a premium,
high-strength grip material. Vastly
superior to standard bonded ivory or stag found on most factory and other
aftermarket grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil
and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today,
while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag. It is
rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is
flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the
strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative
materials. Unlike with real ivory or stag, there is no routine care
and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not
maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is filled with
premium natural compounds to produce outstanding aesthetic properties and
mechanical performance. When aged with our natural aging process, it
takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details
which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In
addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail
for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips.

About Our Aging Process:
We
go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory or Stag not only looks similar to, but in fact looks identical to the real thing. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged
Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Our aged grips feature an
authentic aged patina, just like the originals, with a process incorporating
concentrated U.V. light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), along
with a developer/control agent that is put on the grips to carefully control
U.V. absorption, in a sealed, high-oxygen environment to accelerate the natural
aging process.
Through
this aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered
just like old, antique Ivory, and
incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many
of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, Magna-Tusk develops
a variegated patina due to its authentic grain structure, and natural aging
produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into and
below the surface. Not only does this give it the appearance of
authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a
superficially applied coating. With Magna-Tusk aged
grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a
centuries-old original. While the
quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even
more apparent when seen and handled in person.
Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who
take their grips to the range, where our grips are immediately seen and noticed
by others. If you are interested in
ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both sets together, and we
will ensure a better matchup when selecting pairs.
Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their
own. With our exclusive aging process, these grips
are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over
time. The more these grips are handled
and used, the better they look!
