Offered from the collection of Arizona Custom Grips is a 100% numbers matching and original Colt Single Action Army 1st Generation manufactured in 1896. This is more than likely the most famous and recognizable firearm ever produced in history. The famous "cowboy gun" used by countless lawmen and outlaws alike during the epoc of the old west. Even General George S. Patton carried one on his hip during WWII.
This pistol is 100% complete. It has little factory finish remaining and it has never been refinished which is extremely important on a 130 year old original Colt. Chambered in .45 Long Colt, the action is tight enough that this pistol could still be fired today. It still retains the original Black Hard Rubber Gutta Percha grips that are very desireable and hard to come by. The action is very tight and locks up perfectly every time. Bore shows heavy use as is to be expected on a revolver of this age and era. There is a small chip in the bottom heel of the left grip panel. The grips are otherwise intact. Inside the grip panel, "Red Bryan Jan. 12, 1903" is scratched in by hand by who is likely one of this pistols original owner's.
Since this Colt was made before 1899, it is considered an "Antique" by the ATF and can therefore be shipped directly to your door as it is not legally considered a firearm.
