BELOW IN THEIR ENTIRETY PRIOR TO PURCHASING!
This
auction is for a set of Genuine Aged Magna-Tusk ™ Ivory grips for any
of the 1860 Army style revolvers, either in the original Cap and Ball
format or a Cartridge Conversion, from any maker, whether made by Colt, Uberti,
Pietta, Armi San Marcos, etc. This
auction is for grips made in the “One-Piece” style (without a screw hole). The purchase price includes full custom
fitting in our shop. As with all
one-piece grips, they will be mounted with the appropriate spacer in our
factory and be delivered ready to install.
In order for us to do a precise custom fit, you will need to send in
your frontstrap/triggerguard, and your backstrap only (no other parts are
necessary, and we recommend that you keep these in a safe place until your grips
and parts are returned).
Upon
purchase of the grips, you will receive instructions on where to send the
parts. Turnaround time is expected to
run around between 2 and 4 weeks from receipt of the parts, depending on our
production schedule.
After
custom fitting, the grips will be aged with our exclusive aging process, to
impart the authentic “Old West” Ivory patina that Arizona Custom Grips has
become famous for. We have fully
developed this process and have a vast amount of experience in doing it
right. Please keep in mind that the
aging process does take some time, which cannot be rushed.
About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips:
Magna-Tusk™ Ivory grips, an
exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are manufactured out of a super
high-grade, ultra-high density Ivory material developed exclusively for our
premium grip production. Vastly superior
to standard bonded ivory found on factory and other aftermarket Ivory grips,
Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is
the toughest alternative ivory material available today, while still retaining
the pristine look of real ivory. It is
completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, and is
entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact
resistance of alternative materials.
Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance
involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained
properly or if left in the heat. It is
filled with premium natural and synthetic compounds to produce outstanding
aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our exclusive aging process,
it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details
which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain
structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, imitation stag, etc.,
found on many historic grips.
These outstanding Ivory
grips have been enhanced using our exclusive "aging" process,
yielding a product that is so authentic in appearance, it is difficult for most
people to tell them apart from the real thing, even up close. We have even had customers take their
revolver in to seasoned gunsmiths, who commented on the grips and believed they
were the genuine article.
Our exclusive
aging characteristics, involving a proprietary high temperature/high pressure
aging process, produces an authentic aged Ivory patina which, unlike a
superficially painted surface, actually extends below the surface, into the grip material itself. This surface is as durable as the real thing
and will not chip, crack, or peel. Just like real ivory, a subtle grain
is visible below the surface. These grips feature authentic color
mottling, variegation, and subtle wear marks as seen on many of the revolvers
which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. With use and handling, the grips will continue to patina and will
actually improve with age. The more the
grips are handled and used, just like with real ivory, the better they look!
Customer
satisfaction is important to us – we guarantee we will do our best to ensure
