WHAT THESE WILL FIT

Brand New, unused grips for the PIETTA 1858 REMINGTON Blackpowder revolvers ONLY. 

Please note that these will NOT fit the Uberti, Armi San Marco, the original Civil War era Remington, or any other 1858 Remington revolver by other makers.  Please see our other auctions for these, or send us an email and we will help you locate what you need. 

In addition, because of varying grip pin placement in the Pietta 1858 revolvers over the years, we have made the grip pin holes slightly oversized.  For optimum fit, a small amount of epoxy or J.B. Weld (not included) will be required to partially fill the oversized grip pin holes in the back of the grip to bed the grips for the optimum fit when first putting on the grips.  Full, easy to follow instructions included with the grips.

Finally, please note that Pietta has used various gripframe profiles over the years on these revolvers.  If your revolver was made prior to about the year 2000, please send us the date code found on your revolver (as shown in the second picture), to ensure that we get you the correct grips.

About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips:

Magna-Tusk™ Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are made out of our premium high-grade, ultra-high density Ivory material to improve on the inherent fragility and weakness of standard Bonded Ivory, used on just about all factory and regular aftermarket ivory grips today.  Standard Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over time with repeated use and handling.  Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative Ivory grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory.  They are not cast or made out of an inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense, carefully milled out of a solid block, one at a time.  Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant.  It is flame and heat resistant, will not melt like Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials.  Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat.  It is produced with outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance.  When aged with our exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which most experts cannot tell apart from the real thing.  In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips.
