Note: Our grips feature the historically correct Colt two-piece design (with a screw), which is the original configuration as developed by Colt on their Lightning and Thunderer revolvers.

ALL OF OUR TWO-PIECE GRIPS WILL WORK ON ONE-PIECE GRIP FRAMES

We include, free of charge, a conversion kit which allows these two-piece grips to mount onto a one-piece style grip frame (without a grip pin in the frame).  Our conversion kit replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and locks the grips tightly against the frame, allowing no movement.  This gives you the advantage of the ease of maintenance of two-piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition.  Easy installation instructions, along with grip screw included.  6.3.20

WHAT THESE WILL FIT

Brand New, unused grips for the PIETTA BIRDSHEAD, 1873 BIRDSHEAD, OR similar revolvers, MADE BY PIETTA, and marketed in the U.S. by importers such as Taylors & Co.

Please note that these WILL NOT FIT Birdshead revolvers made by any other manufacturer, such as Uberti, Ruger, etc.

This auction is for the revolvers which have the SMOOTH curved Birdshead-style backstrap, and will NOT fit the somewhat similar Pietta Thunderball style, which has a “humped”-curved backstrap.  Please take a close look at the pictures to note the difference.  If you have a Thunderball (humped-curve) style grip, please visit our store or check our other auctions to find the correct grip.  Or you can also click “Pietta” under our Store Categories section at the left of this page.  Feel free to email if you have any questions.
