ONE-PIECE VS. TWO-PIECE STYLE GRIPS:

A Choice for Every
User! Two-Piece style grips incorporate a visible screw and screwhole, allowing
easy and quick removal for cleaning or maintenance of your revolver.  One-piece style grips do not use a screw but
instead use an internal spacer.  Both
styles are traditional and historical designs and both were originally used on
early Colts, so it is a matter of personal preference.  Both styles of our grips will interchange
and work on either style of grip frame. 
See below.

One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips
which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user
installed spacer (included with the grips) between the grip panels, as seen on
many of the early Colts.  The spacer is
sent loose to ensure optimum fit with your revolver, with simple, quick
installation which takes one minute or so per grip (fully illustrated instructions
included).  This results in a rock-tight
fit, without the need of a screw.  Preferred
by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look. One-Piece style
grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip
and backstrap backwards.  Reinstallation
is in reverse order. 

Alternatively, our Two-Piece style
grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw and screwhole) offer the superior
convenience of quick grip removal.  They include
a free Conversion kit, allowing
their use on revolvers that are currently using one-piece style grips that do
not have a grip pin.  The conversion kit replaces
the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips
to lock up tight on the frame, allowing no movement.  This
requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the
ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your
revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were
also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic
historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by
many collectors.

for a set of Genuine Magna-Tusk™ grips for any of the PIETTA Model 1873 SAA (Single
Action Army) style revolvers, with the standard SAA “plowhandle” grip
shape.

These will usually
be marked “Pietta,” and may also (but not necessarily) be marked by the U.S. importer,
such as “Cimarron,” “EMF,” “Taylors & Co.,” “Traditions,” etc.

This includes any of the following:

Malo (NOT the El Malo 2 – see

•  Traditions Single Action Frontier or Rawhide revolvers.  Note: if your Rawhide revolver is the .22 cal. Rawhide Ranchhand, please send
us an immediate followup email after your order and let us know.  These require extra milling cutouts to mount
properly to your frame.

•  Century Arms 1873 Millenium

Please note that these will fit revolvers having the standard sized
SAA style gripframe (somewhere around 3-1/16” to 3-1/8” tall depending on how
you hold your ruler or tape).  If it is
made by Pietta, these will fit.

Note: If you do
not see your pistol listed, please drop us an email with your model name and we
will verify your revolver.

BRASS GRIP FRAMES
-- IMPORTANT!

*PLEASE NOTE: if you have a BRASS
gripframe (such as sometimes found on the Cimarron “Pistolero”, Davidson’s
Exclusive 1873s, EMF’s GWII “Gunfighter”,
or Taylor’s “1873 Single Action Stag”
revolvers, for example), please send us an immediate followup email after your
purchase informing us that 1) your revolver has a brass gripframe, and 2) please
send us the two-letter or two-number code found in the small square box stamped
underneath or on the side of the receiver. 
This is shown in the second photo as an example.  We will need this code to make sure you get
the correct grips. 

What these WILL NOT FIT: 

1.  Please note that these grips are made to fit ONLY the Pietta Model 1873 style
Single Action revolvers, with the typical SAA “plowhandle” shaped gripframe,
and will NOT fit any revolvers from other makers (such as Uberti, Armi San
Marco, Colt, Ruger, etc.).  These grips will
also NOT fit the Bisley, the Birdshead, the Thunderer, Thunderball, or the
Lightning style revolvers, nor any of the Remington style revolvers such as the
1858, 1875, or 1890, from ANY maker, all
of which use a completely different shaped gripframe. 

2.  In addition, these WILL NOT FIT grip frames with the taller 1860 Army style
gripframe, which are around 3-1/2” tall. 
To make sure you are ordering the correct grips, please check your
grip frame measurement prior to ordering. 
Your grips or grip frame should measure
somewhere between 3-1/16 – 3-1/8”
tall, depending on how you hold your ruler, tape, or caliper.  The important thing is to make sure they are
NOT around 3-1/2” tall.  EMF’s Alchimista, Cimarron’s Bad Boy, or
Cimarron’s El Malo 2, for example,
have the taller 1860 Army style (3-1/2” tall) grip frame.   If you have one of these, our Pietta 1860
Army Cap & Ball style  grips are
properly milled for these.  Please see

A note on
the Italian-produced Revolvers:

The
Italian firms, located in Northern Italy, have been making SAA style revolvers
now for well over a half century, and have made a huge number of makes and
models and grip frame profiles with varying configurations over the years.  We have an in-depth knowledge of the
differing grip configurations, have a large library of gripframe variations
from the various makers both old and new, and have vast experience making grips
for Uberti, Pietta, Armi San Marco, and the other Italian gunmaking firms.   Our experienced makers go to great lengths
to ensure an exacting fit, including utilizing modern precision CNC production
techniques, as well as incorporating old-time hand tuning and hand checking the
fit of every grip on our reference frames prior to leaving our factory.  We have a long list of many satisfied

variety of applications, and we can safely and confidently guarantee proper fit
and finish to your complete satisfaction.

Arizona Custom Grips

Handcrafted on an individual Custom basis out
of Magna-Tusk™, our solid, dense proprietary substrate which is formulated out
of natural materials for an authentic look and feel, and which yields a finished
product which is the ultimate rendition of the classic stag grips of the golden
era of Westerns.   Better materials and our proprietary
pigmenting process yields a finished product better than the originals.  These grips are milled from a solid slab and
are not cast.  This avoids the
inclusions, air pockets, and most importantly the cheap "cast
plastic" look found in the urethane and other imitation materials commonly
available.  Like natural grips, with use
and handling over time they will form an authentic patina and will only improve
with age.  They look better, age better, and
perform better.  And perhaps best of all,
these grips are made entirely in the U.S.A.!

"B-Western" Style Custom grips are hand-carved one-at-a-time in
recognition of one of America's most outstanding and lasting cultural
achievements of the 20th century -- the "B-Western." Styled after the
grips seen on the revolvers of classic Hollywood Westerns of the 1930's to the
1960's (the "golden era of Hollywood Westerns"), these grips were
featured in numerous Western productions both on Television and on the Silver
Screen. Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rifleman, Rawhide, The Virginian, and many others
