(Please
read this entire section carefully in order to make sure you get the correct
grips):
These
grips WILL FIT the following Ruger revolvers:
●
Ruger Blackhawks (these grips are machined to fit both the “New Models”,
and the “Old” (3-screw) model Blackhawks).
Exception:
If your revolver is a “Flattop” (please see photo above), these will NOT
fit. Please see our “New Vaquero”
listings for the correct grips.
Additional
Exception: If your revolver was made prior to 1963, please see our "Pre-1963"
Blackhawk and Single Six listings for the correct grips. If
you are unsure of the year, please email us your serial number and we can look
it up.
●Ruger
Vaquero (Old Style)
Note:
these will only fit the “original” Vaquero and NOT the “New Vaquero,” except the
.44 Magnum version. The original
Vaqueros have a 2-digit serial number prefix (i.e., 55-xxxxx), so please check
and verify that prior to ordering. The
New Vaqueros have a 3-digit prefix (i.e., 555-xxxxx), and will not work unless
it is in the .44 Magnum chambering. Please
contact us for help if you have any questions.
●New
Vaquero, in .44 Magnum Caliber only.
Note:
these will work with the .44 Magnum New Vaquero but will not work with any
other New Vaquero revolver. Please see
our New Vaquero grip section in our store if you have other than a .44 Magnum.
●Single
Six, Single Seven, Single Nine, Single Ten
Exception:
if your revolver is made prior to 1963, these will NOT fit. Please see our "Pre-1963" Blackhawk or
Single Six grip listings for the correct grips.
●Ruger
Old Army
Exception:
a very limited number of Old Armys are fitted with non-standard gripframes
which are made of brass and have a square-backed triggerguard (not round). If you have one of these, please let us know
and we will help you get the correct grips.
●All
Super Blackhawks with a round trigger guard.
Exception:
if you have the Hunter model (it will say “Hunter” on the revolver), these
grips will NOT fit. Our grips for the
square-backed trigger guard Super Blackhawk are the correct ones for the Hunter
model.
Note
that these will NOT fit any Super Blackhawk with a square-backed trigger guard
(again, please see our listings for the square-backed Super Blackhawk if you
have one of these). Please contact us if
you have any questions or cannot find what you need.
(Note:
These will NOT fit your
revolver if you have a Bisley or Birdshead style gripframe, both of which are a
completely different shape from the one in the photo. If you are unsure, please contact us and we
will be happy to get you the correct grips as we have grips for nearly every
Ruger revolver).
If you have any questions or are unsure which revolver you have,
please drop us an email. We’ll be happy
to help!!

Arizona Custom Grips
About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade”
Ivory Grips:
Our Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips,
are made out of a premium high-grade, ultra-high density ivory material (Magna-Tusk™), designed from the ground
up as a premium grip material to greatly improve on the inherent fragility and
weakness of the cheaper Bonded Ivory used on just about all factory and regular
aftermarket ivory grips today. Standard
Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over
time with repeated use, firing, and handling.
Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact,
and is the toughest alternative Ivory grip material available today, while
still retaining the pristine look of real ivory. These grips are not
cast or made out of an inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense,
carefully milled out of a solid block, one at a time. Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable,
and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant,
will not melt like Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over
10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative
materials. Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and
maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not
maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is produced with outstanding
aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our
exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina,
with subtle grain details which most experts cannot tell apart from the real
thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which
holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many
historic grips.
About Our Aging Process:
We
go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory not only looks similar to real aged ivory, but in fact looks
identical to the real thing. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged
Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Through our slow aging process, these grips become
beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic
details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which
belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, no two are exactly the
same. Our process produces an authentic
appearance and genuine patina which extends deep into the surface. Not
only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this
surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied
coating. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts
cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat
noticeable in the photos, the difference is even more apparent when seen and
handled in person. Many of our repeat
sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who take their grips to the
range or club, where our grips are immediately seen and noticed by others. We are also capable of producing them with a
“clean” aged look if required (i.e., without the mottling, etc.), which is a
simpler process, although most would agree that they do not look quite as
authentic as our regular aged grips. If
you are interested in ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both
sets together, and we will ensure a good matchup.
Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their
own. With our exclusive aging process, these grips
are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over
time. The more these grips are handled
and used, the better they look!
