 Single Action AGED IVORY Grips

John Wayne Style Fingergrooves

Hand cut in the
famous John Wayne Fingergroove style featured in many of his most famous
Westerns, such as True Grit, The War Wagon, The Cowboys, and Rooster Cogburn.  These grips are aged to match the deep, dark
orange/tan patina of the originals as closely as possible.  Being made out of a solid piece of
Magna-Tusk™, an exclusive product of Arizona Custom Grips, these grips are
better and more durable than the originals -- the highest quality grips of
their type ever available.  

These
grips WILL FIT the following Ruger revolvers:

● Ruger New Vaquero.  Note: New Vaqueros have a serial number with
a three-digit prefix (e.g.,
512-XXXXX).  If your Vaquero has a two-digit serial number prefix
(e.g., 55-XXXXX), you have an “Old” Vaquero and these grips will NOT fit, so
please see our store and select the “Blackhawk and Single Six” category for the
correct grips.  Also, please note that
these will not fit the .44 Magnum New Vaquero (please see below).  Please email if you have any questions.

● Montado

● 50^th Anniversary Blackhawks (which have a completely flat topstrap)

● 44 Special Blackhawks (which
have a completely flat topstrap)

● Other New Model Blackhawk “Flattop” models (again, any models having a completely flat topstrap – please see
the photo above for details).

These will not fit:

Vaquero (meaning the “Old” Model
Vaquero, with a two-digit serial number prefix).

·        
Blackhawk or New Model Blackhawk, unless
they have a “Flattop” topstrap, in which case these are the correct grips.

·        
Single Six, Single Nine, Single Ten

·        
Old Army

·        
New Vaquero in .44 Magnum caliber (our
regular Blackhawk grips are cut to fit these)

·        
Bisley Gripframes

·        
Birdshead Gripframes

·        
Super Blackhawks

About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips:

Magna-Tusk™ Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona
Custom Grips, are manufactured out of our super high-grade, ultra-high
density Ivory material developed exclusively for our premium grip
production.  Vastly superior to standard
bonded ivory found on factory and other aftermarket Ivory grips, Magna-Tusk™ is
capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest
alternative ivory material available today, while still retaining the pristine
look of real ivory.  It is completely
rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant.  It is flame and heat resistant, and is entirely
void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of
alternative materials.  Unlike with real
ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it
drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat.  It is filled with premium natural and
synthetic compounds to produce outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical
performance.  When aged with our exclusive
aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle
grain details which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing.  In addition, the material has a fine grain
structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, imitation stag, etc.,
found on many historic grips. 

About Our Aging Process:  The best Aged Ivory grips start
with the best materials.  Unlike the
commonly available “solid yellow” plastic grips which detract from the
appearance and handling of a revolver or firearm, our Aged Ivory grips are made
out of the best components available, incorporate natural materials, and
feature a genuine, authentic patina. 
Their authenticity is so convincing that many experts cannot tell it
apart from real Ivory.  The difference is
noticeable even in the photos, but is even more apparent in person.  These grips feature authentic color mottling,
variegation, and subtle wear marks as seen on many of the revolvers which
belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. 

We offer the
highest quality, most authentic imitation Aged Ivory grips available anywhere
on the market. 

Our process
utilizes concentrated UV light (the essential aging property in natural
sunlight), and in addition employing heat and pressure in a special controlled
high oxygen-rich environment which accelerates the aging process.  Unlike a painted surface, our patina actually
extends below the surface, into
the grip material itself.  Not
only does it look better to begin with, but will not chip, crack, or peel, like
superficially applied surfaces.  With our
exclusive aging process, these grips are outstanding right out of the box, and
will continue to improve over time.  The
more these grips are handled and used, just like any genuine patina, the better
they look! 

Please note: We make every effort to
ensure the best fit possible.  Besides
using exacting standards and state-of-the art-equipment in our manufacturing
operations, every set of grips is hand checked on our test frame for proper fit
prior to leaving our factory.  This
ensures the best fit in the industry. 
Occasionally, however, your grip pin may have been installed slightly
out of alignment or position, and you may find it necessary to slightly open up
the grip pin holes on the back of the grips to get the grips to seat
fully.  Full, easy to follow instructions
are provided with every set of grips.
