WHAT THESE WILL FIT:

Brand New Magna-Tusk™ grips for ALL VERSIONS of the Ruger Security-Six and Service-Six Revolvers.  Please see the important note immediately below.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!  “Low Back” version:  Ruger produced a “Low Back” version of the Security Six from 1972 to 1974.  These have a serial number prefix starting with “150” (i.e., #150-xxxxx).  These can be further identified by the size of the circular hole (frame relief) as shown in the picture in this listing.

Ruger began producing the “High Back” version starting in 1975, and these will have a serial number prefix starting with “151” and above.   

Note: There were reportedly a few “High Back” versions produced with a “150” serial number prefix (late 1974 production perhaps??), so if you have a “150” series, it is good to check the frame relief hole diameter as shown in the picture, which will tell for sure.  If you have the larger size hole, your gripframe is “Low Back”.

If you have a “Low-Back” version, please add a note to your order letting us know, so that we can send the correct grips.   They use a slightly different profile than the later “High Back” version, and these are not interchangeable.  If we do not hear from you, we will send grips for the “High Back” version, which is far more common and is what most people are likely to have.  If you have the more common “High Back” version, you do not need to notify us as we will automatically assume this is what you have.

Also, please note that these will NOT fit the Ruger Speed-Six, which uses a round-butt style grip frame.  If you are unsure which version you have, please drop us an email – we are happy to help!

Magna-Tusk™ Ivory and Stag grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are manufactured out of our super high-grade, ultra-high density material developed exclusively for our premium grip production.  Vastly superior to standard bonded ivory or stag found on factory and other aftermarket grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag.  It is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant.  It is flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials.  Unlike with real ivory or stag, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat.  It is filled with premium natural and synthetic compounds to produce outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance.  When aged with our exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing.  In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips. 112219

Please note: We make every effort to ensure the best fit possible.  Besides using exacting standards and state-of-the art-equipment in our manufacturing operations, every set of grips is hand checked on our test frame for proper fit prior to leaving our factory.  This ensures the best fit in the industry.  Occasionally, however, your grip pin may have been installed slightly out of alignment or position, and you may find it necessary to slightly open up the grip pin holes on the back of the grips to get the grips to seat fully.  Full, easy to follow instructions are provided with every set of grips.
