oNE-PIECE
(nO SCREWHOLE) STYLE grips

THIS LISTING IS FOR OUR
ONE-PIECE (NO SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS

********

ONE-PIECE VS. TWO-PIECE STYLE GRIPS EXPLAINED:

Note: One-Piece style grips do not have a visible
screw but instead use an internal spacer to mount the grips.  Two-Piece style grips incorporate a visible
screw, allowing easy and quick removal for cleaning or maintenance of your
revolver.  We manufacture both
types.  Both styles of our grips will
interchange and work on either style of grip frame, no matter how your revolver
is currently set up.
  Both styles are
traditional and historical designs and both were originally used on early
Colts, so whichever style you choose is really a matter of personal
preference.

One-Piece
style grips (i.e., grips with no visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a spacer
(included with the grips) which is user mounted to the inside of the grip
panels to hold them in place instead of a using a screw.  To ensure optimum fit and best performance, the
spacer is sent unmounted since all gripframes vary slightly in inside
dimensions.  Installation is simple and generally
takes only a few minutes.  Illustrated instructions
included with each order.  This results
in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw.  One-Piece grips are preferred by many
collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, and are seen on many
early Colts. Once mounted, they are fully removable by removing the three
backstrap screws, and will not alter your revolver in any way.  Reinstallation is in reverse order.

Alternatively, our Two-Piece style
grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of
quick grip removal using only the screw (also included with the grips).  Our Two-Piece style grips also include our
proprietary C
onversion Kit, allowing
their use on revolvers that do not have a grip pin in the frame (as is the case
with most Italian-made revolvers and others that currently have a one-piece
style grip).  The Conversion Kit replaces
the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips
to lock up tight on the frame, allowing no movement.  T
his
requires no modification to your revolver.
Two-piece grips give you the advantage of easier access to your revolver
for cleaning and maintenance, while preserving the integrity of your revolver
in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were also used
on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical design,
offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many shooters and collectors.

Fully
illustrated, easy-to-follow mounting instructions are included with every order.

The legendary Colt 1851 Navy, a 36 Caliber Cap & Ball
revolver designed by Samuel Colt, was manufactured in Hartford, CT starting in
the 1850s and continuing on up into the 1870s.
After a long production run of over 250,000 units, it was superseded by
the metallic cartridge firing Colt 1873 Single Action Army, which like the ’51 Navy
gained a legendary status of its own.

To many, the outstanding handling qualities and the size and
shape of the Navy grip frame (and the later 1873 Army which was a close copy of
the Navy) was and is unsurpassed, even by today’s standards.  These “plowhandle” gripframes are deemed by
many to result in the most naturally pointing revolvers ever designed.  With an elegant and svelte profile, the ’51
Navy grip frame facilitates ultra-fast handling, and rapid, instinctive
aiming.  It was the preferred sidearm by
many seasoned gunfighters of the Old West, most notably Wild Bill Hickock who
was known to always carry a brace of Navys in his belt.  Bringing the Navy revolver into quick action
by experienced gunmen was more of an exercise in instinctual tactile feel, rather than the slower deliberation and careful aiming necessary with some
lesser designs.

WHAT
THESE WILL FIT

(Please read the following
section in its entirety!
)

These grips WILL FIT the following Uberti Cap & Ball revolvers
and their derivatives (such as the “Open Tops” and “Conversions”), which have
the standard 3-1/8” tall gripframe
:

- 1851 Navy Percussion (Cap &
Ball)-

- 1851 Navy Conversion-

- 1851 Navy Open Top -

- Richards-Mason 1851 Navy Conversions

- C. Mason 1851 Navy Conversions –

- Man With No Name 1851 Navy
Conversions -

- 1861 Navy Percussion (Cap &
Ball) -

- 1871 Navy Open Tops-

- 1872 Navy Open Tops –

- Leech & Ridgon (CSA 1851 Navy) –

- and other similar Uberti designs
using the 3-1/8” tall gripframe –

PLEASE NOTE: Uberti makes an 1860 Army sized
revolver which has a similar appearance to the ’51 Navy.  However, the 1860 Army gripframe is around
3-3/8” tall, so 1860 Army grips are not interchangeable with the ’51 Navy.
Please check your
grip frame measurement prior to ordering
.  These grips will ONLY fit the Navy sized
gripframes (which are around 3-1/16” to
3-1/8” tall
, depending on how you hold your ruler or caliper).  If you have the taller (3-3/8”) 1860 Army sized grip
frame, please check our store for Uberti 1860 Army grips, or send us an email
if you cannot find what you need and we will be happy to help.

UBERTI FRAME
VARIATIONS -- IMPORTANT!

*PLEASE NOTE: Over the years Uberti has used multiple variations of gripframes on
their revolvers, with several profile differences and different fitting
requirements, and they are NOT interchangeable although they LOOK similar.  To ensure that we get you the correct grips,
we need to determine the date of manufacture of your revolver.  When ordering, please check your revolver for
a two-digit date code inside a small rectangular box (as shown in the second
picture in this listing), or on older revolvers made prior to 1975 a set of
Roman numerals (e.g., “XXX”, “XXIV”, etc.).
On some of the more current revolvers, there is a two-digit number
(e.g., “21”) inside a circle, or sometimes you will find an actual date stamp
(e.g., “2022”).  If found, when ordering
the grips please attach a message to your order and send us the date code.  If after a careful inspection you find that
your revolver does not have the code (which a few of the newer revolvers do
not), please let us know that you have a recent model and send the first three
digits of your serial number.

If we do
not hear from you we will send the most common current version in order to get
the order out within the required time parameters.

What these will NOT fit:

Please note that these will NOT fit revolvers made by Colt, Pietta,
Army San Marco, or any other manufacturer.
Please check and make sure your revolver was made by Uberti prior to
ordering.  Cimarron, Taylors & Co.,
or EMF, etc., are importers and buy from various manufacturers, including
Uberti.  But Uberti’s name should be
found somewhere on the revolver.

A note on the Italian-produced
Revolvers:

The

differing grip configurations, have a large library of gripframe variations
from the various makers both old and new, and have vast experience making grips
for Uberti, Pietta, as well as the other Italian gunmaking firms.   Our experienced makers go to great lengths

variety of applications, and we can safely and confidently guarantee proper fit
and finish to your complete satisfaction.

Arizona Custom Grips

About Magna-Tusk™ Ivory
and Stag Grips:

Magna-Tusk™ Ivory and Stag grips, a
product of Arizona Custom Grips, are manufactured out of our
high-grade, high density ivory material designed exclusively as a premium,
high-strength grip material.  Vastly
superior to standard bonded ivory or stag found on most factory and other
aftermarket grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil
and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today,
while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag.  It is
rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant.  It is
flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the
strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative
materials.  Unlike with real ivory or stag, there is no routine care
and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not
maintained properly or if left in the heat.  It is filled with
premium natural compounds to produce outstanding aesthetic properties and
mechanical performance.  When aged with our natural aging process, it
takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details
which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing.  In
addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail
for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips.

About Our Aging Process:

We
go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory or Stag not only looks similar to, but in fact looks identical to the real thing.  Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged
Ivory grip unlike any other material made today.
Our aged grips feature an
authentic aged patina, just like the originals, with a process incorporating
concentrated U.V. light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), along
with a developer/control agent that is put on the grips to carefully control
U.V. absorption, in a sealed, high-oxygen environment to accelerate the natural
aging process.

Through
this aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered
just like old, antique Ivory, and
incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many
of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West.  As with real aged Ivory, Magna-Tusk develops
a variegated patina due to its authentic grain structure, and natural aging
produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into and
below the surface.
Not only does this give it the appearance of
authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a
superficially applied coating.
With Magna-Tusk aged
grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a
centuries-old original.  While the
quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even
more apparent when seen and handled in person.
Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who
take their grips to the range, where our grips are immediately seen and noticed
by others.  If you are interested in
ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both sets together, and we
will ensure a better matchup when selecting pairs.

Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their
own.
With our exclusive aging process, these grips
are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over
time.  The more these grips are handled
and used, the better they look!
