oNE-PIECE
(nO SCREWHOLE) STYLE

THIS AUCTION IS FOR OUR
ONE-PIECE (NO SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS
SEE BELOW.

********

ONE-PIECE VS. TWO-PIECE STYLE GRIPS:

Note: Two-Piece style
grips incorporate a visible screw and screwhole, allowing easy and quick
removal for cleaning or maintenance of your revolver.  One-Piece style grips do not use a screw but
instead use an internal spacer.  We sell
both types.  Both styles are traditional
and historical designs and both were originally used on early Colts, so it is a
matter of personal preference.  Both
styles of our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip frame, no
matter how your revolver is currently set up.
  See below.

One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips
which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user
installed spacer (which is included with the grips) between the grip panels, as
seen on many of the early Colts.  The
spacer supplied with your grips is sent unmounted to ensure optimum fit with
your revolver, with simple, quick installation which takes about one minute or
so per panel.  Fully illustrated
instructions are included.  This results
in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw.  Preferred by many collectors for their clean
lines and traditional look. One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the
three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards.  Reinstallation is in reverse order.

Alternatively, our Two-Piece style
grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw and screwhole) offer the superior
convenience of quick grip removal.  Our
grips include a free C
onversion Kit, allowing
their use on revolvers that are currently set up for One-Piece style grips that
do not have a grip pin.  The Conversion Kit
replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows
the grips to lock up tight on the frame, allowing no movement.
This
requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the
ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your
revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were
also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic
historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by
many collectors.

Fully illustrated, detailed instructions
are included with each set of grips.

WHAT THESE WILL FIT:

The legendary and historical 1851 Navy revolver was manufactured
by Colt starting in the 1850’s and continued on into the 1870’s, until it was
more or less replaced by the also legendary Colt 1873 Single Action Army which
fired metallic cartridges.

To many, the handling qualities and the size and shape of
the Navy grip frame was and is unsurpassed, even by today’s standards.  It was the grip frame that the later Colt
1873 Single Action Army was based on, and is deemed by many to be one of the
most naturally pointing revolvers ever designed.  With an elegant and svelte profile, the ’51
Navy grip frame facilitated ultra-fast handling, and rapid, instinctive aiming.  It was the preferred sidearm by many seasoned
gunfighters of the Old West.  Bringing the
Navy revolver into quick action by experienced gunmen was more of an exercise
in tactile feel rather than excessive, careful time-consuming deliberation.

The Navy revolvers can be easily distinguished from the
later Colt 1873 Single Action Army because they do not have a top strap (the
section of steel located over the top of the cylinder, where the rear sight
trough is located on the 1873).

These grips WILL FIT the following Uberti revolvers and
their derivatives (such as the “Open Tops” and “Conversions”).  These revolvers have a grip approximately
3-1/16”
to 3-1/8”
tall, depending on how you hold your ruler or caliper:

- 1851 Navy Percussion (Cap &
Ball)-

- 1851 Navy Conversion-

- 1851 Navy Open Top -

- Richards-Mason 1851 Navy Conversions

- C. Mason 1851 Navy Conversions –

- Man With No Name 1851 Navy
Conversions -

- 1861 Navy Percussion (Cap &
Ball) -

- 1871 Navy Open Tops-

- 1872 Navy Open Tops –

- Leech & Ridgon (CSA 1851 Navy) –

(basically anything based on the 1851
Navy in other words)

UBERTI FRAME
VARIATIONS -- IMPORTANT!

*PLEASE NOTE: Over the years Uberti has used multiple variations of gripframes on
their SAA style revolvers, and they are not interchangeable.  IF
your revolver has a two-digit code inside a small rectangular box (as shown in
the second picture in this listing), or if your revolver alternatively is
marked with Roman numerals (i.e., “XXX” or “XXIV”), please attach a message to
your order and send that code to us.  If
after a careful inspection you find that your revolver does not have the code
(which some of the newer revolvers do not), please send the first three digits of your serial number.  If we do not hear from you we will send the latest version.

What these will NOT fit:

Please note that
these will NOT fit revolvers
made by Pietta, Colt, Army San Marco, or any other manufacturer.  Please check and make sure your revolver was
made by Uberti prior to ordering.
Cimarron, Taylors & Co., or EMF, etc., are importers and buy from
various manufacturers, including Uberti.
But Uberti’s name should be found somewhere on the revolver.

Please also be aware that Uberti makes an 1860 Army sized
revolver which has a similar appearance to the Navy (i.e., no top strap).  However, the 1860 Army grip is around 3-3/8”
tall, so 1860 Army grips are not interchangeable with the ’51 Navy.
Please check your
grip frame measurement prior to ordering
.  These grips will fit only the Navy so your
existing grips should be around 3-1/16” to 3-1/8” tall for these to work.  If you have the taller (3-3/16”) 1860 Army sized
grip frame, please check our store for Uberti 1860 Army grips, or send us an
email if you cannot find what you need and we will be happy to help.

Arizona Custom Grips

About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade”
Ivory Grips:

Our Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips,
are made out of a premium high-grade, ultra-high density ivory material (Magna-Tusk™), designed from the ground
up as a premium grip material to greatly improve on the inherent fragility and
weakness of the cheaper Bonded Ivory used on just about all factory and regular
aftermarket ivory grips today.  Standard
Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over
time with repeated use, firing, and handling.
Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact,
and is the toughest alternative Ivory grip material available today, while
still retaining the pristine look of real ivory.  These grips are not
cast or made out of an inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense,
carefully milled out of a solid block, one at a time.  Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable,
and water, chemical, and oil resistant.  It is flame and heat resistant,
will not melt like Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over
10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative
materials.  Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and
maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not
maintained properly or if left in the heat.  It is produced with outstanding
aesthetic properties and mechanical performance.  When aged with our
exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina,
with subtle grain details which most experts cannot tell apart from the real
thing.  In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which
holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many
historic grips.

Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their
own.
With our exclusive aging process, these grips
are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over
time.  The more these grips are handled
and used, the better they look!
