Brand New

Uberti 1858 Remington Revolvers:

These grips WILL FIT the UBERTI model 1858 Remington Revolvers (both the Cap & Ball AND Cartridge Conversion models), whether sold and marketed through Cimarron, Taylor’s & Co., E.M.F., Navy Arms, or other Importers.

IMPORTANT!  Uberti has produced numerous variations of their 1858 gripframe over the years, and they are not interchangeable.  To ensure that we get you get the correct grips, when you order please email us a picture of each side of your gripframe, with the grips removed.  We need to be able to see both sides of your gripframe clearly.  Also, please check your date code (see the second picture in the listing) and send that to us as well.  Note: if we do not receive this information from you, we will ship the most current version.

Note: because of varying grip pin placement in a select few of some of the Uberti 1858 revolvers, to ensure optimum fit we have made the grip pin holes slightly oversized on certain grips when necessary.  For optimum fit, a small amount of epoxy or J.B. Weld (not included) may sometimes be preferred (though not required) to partially fill the oversized grip pin holes in the back of the grip to bed the grips for the optimum fit (i.e., to avoid excess movement on the frame).  This takes less than a minute to do, results in a rock-tight fit, and full, easy to follow instructions included with the grips.

What these WILL NOT FIT:  Please note that these grips are made only for Uberti revolvers.  These WILL NOT FIT revolvers made by Pietta, Armi San Marco, original (Civil War era) Remington revolvers, or 1858 revolvers from any other maker.  If you have one of the Pietta revolvers or an original Remington, we also have grips for these listed.  Please let us know if you need help finding them, or if you have any questions.  We are happy to help.

Arizona Custom Grips

About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips:

Magna-Tusk™ Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are made out of our premium high-grade, ultra-high density Ivory material to improve on the inherent fragility and weakness of standard Bonded Ivory, used on just about all factory and regular aftermarket ivory grips today.  Standard Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over time with repeated use and handling.  Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative Ivory grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory.  They are not cast or made out of an inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense, carefully milled out of a solid block, one at a time.  Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant.  It is flame and heat resistant, will not melt like Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials.  Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat.  It is produced with outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance.  When aged with our exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which most experts cannot tell apart from the real thing.  In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips.

About Our Aging Process:

We go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory grips not only look similar to real aged ivory, but in fact look identical to the real thing.  Magna-Tusk, because of the quality materials used, will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today.  Although much more difficult to produce than “uniform” colored grips, through a special process these grips are slowly and laboriously mottled, variegated, and weathered to look like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic minute details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West.  No two are the same.  Our process produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends deep into the surface, just like real aged ivory.  Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating.  With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original.  While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, due to the difficulties of capturing the exact colors and hues of these grips with a camera, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person.  Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who take their grips to the range or club, where the quality difference is immediately seen and appreciated by others.  We are also capable of producing them with a “clean” aged look if required (i.e., without the mottling, etc.), although they do not look as authentic as our regular aging process.

If you are interested in ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both sets together, so we can ensure a good matchup.

Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their own. With our exclusive aging process, these grips are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over time.  The more these grips are handled and used, the better they look!
