B-Western Style Custom Stag Grips

~~~~~
oNE-PIECE
(nO SCREWHOLE) STYLE
THIS AUCTION IS FOR OUR
ONE-PIECE (NO SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS
SEE BELOW.
********
Note: Two-Piece grips,
in addition to a visible screw, have a grip pin installed in the grip frame to help
hold them in place.  One-Piece grips (grips
with no visible screw) use a spacer between the panels, with no screw and no grip
pin.  Our grips will interchange and work
on either style of grip frame.  See
below.
One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips
which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user
installed spacer between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early
Colts.  This results in a rock-tight fit,
without the need of a screw.  Preferred
by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style
grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip
and backstrap backwards.  Reinstallation
is in reverse order.  Our One-Piece style
grips will work on either style gripframe (either One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip
frames).  Fully illustrated instructions
included for quick and easy installation.
Alternatively, our Two-Piece style
grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of
quick grip removal.  Unlike with
One-Piece grips, the backstrap need not be removed to remove the grips for
cleaning and maintenance of the revolver.
Our Two-Piece grips include a free C
onversion kit (allowing their use on One-Piece style frames) which
replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows
the grips to lock up tight, allowing no movement.
This
requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the
ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your
revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were
also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical
design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many
collectors.
Fully illustrated, detailed instructions
are included with each set of grips.
WHAT
THESE WILL and WILL NOT FIT – Please read this section in its entirety to
ensure you get the correct grip.  A few
minutes spent now will avoid unnecessary delay later on
.
This auction is
for a set of Genuine Magna-Tusk™ grips for any of the UBERTI made 1873 SAA (Single Action Army) style revolvers, with the
standard
sized
(around 3-1/6” to 3-1/8” tall) “plowhandle” style grip frames.  [Please
note that these will NOT fit the taller 1860 Army sized 3-3/8” gripframes – see
below].
These will be
marked “Uberti,” and may also (but not necessarily be) marked by the U.S. importer,
such as “Cimarron,” “Taylors & Co.”, “Navy Arms”, “Stoeger”,  “EMF”, etc.
The important thing to determine is that the revolver was made by Uberti
and not by some other maker.  If you see
your revolver listed below, then these grips WILL FIT (subject to the few exceptions
noted below).
These grips will fit any of the following
Uberti-made revolvers with the standard
sized
“plowhandle” style gripframe:
  Cimarron
Uberti revolvers
:  Buntline; Cattleman
; Cattleman II; Chisholm; Desperado; El Patron; Evil Roy; Frisco; Holy Smoker; Hombre; Horseman; Cimarron Model P and Model P Jr.; New Sheriff; Old West; Pistoleer; Rooster Shooter; Short Stroke CMS Pro; Short Stroke SASS Pro; Stallion; Thunderstorm and Thunderstorm CM; US Military
Models (Custer 7th Cavalry,
U.S. Cavalry Scout,
and U.S.V.
Artillery)
; Wyatt Earp Buntline, and
& Co. Uberti revolvers
3-3/8” gripframe – see below)
; Cattleman
12-Shot
; Devil Anse; Drifter; Gambler; Old Randall; Outlaw Legacy; Ranch Hand; Runnin’ Iron;
Smoke Wagon; Stallion .22, Taylor Gambler;
the larger 3-3/8” gripframe – see below);
  Also: Will also fit any of Stoeger’s
Uberti revolvers; the E.M.F. Dakota II
or Dakota III;
the American Arms Regulator;  or any other Uberti
SAA style revolver with the standard
sized (3-1/6” to 3-1/8”) plowhandle grip frame
.
Note: If you do
not see your revolver listed, please drop us an email with your model name and
we will verify your revolver.
UBERTI FRAME
VARIATIONS -- IMPORTANT!
*PLEASE NOTE: Over the years Uberti has used multiple variations of gripframes on
their SAA style (“Colt” style) revolvers, and they are not interchangeable.  Accordingly, please send us an immediate
followup email after your purchase (or attach a note to your order) informing
us of the two-digit code
found in the small rectangular box stamped underneath or on the side of the
receiver (or occasionally found under the barrel).  This is shown in the second photo as an
example.  This can be either letters or
numbers.
Also, please send us
the first three digits of
your serial number.  If there is a letter
before before your serial number (some will have it and some won’t), please
also include that.  This will tell us the
gripframe variation you have, and we will need this information to make sure
you get the correct grips.  If we do not
receive this information from you, we will send out the most common variation
for the latest models.
What these WILL NOT FIT
1.  Please note that these grips will NOT fit other makes of revolvers,
such as revolvers made by Pietta, Armi San Marco, Colt, Ruger, etc.
Also, please note
that these grips are made to fit the standard “Plowhandle” shaped (“SAA style”)
gripframes only; these grips will NOT
fit completely differently shaped gripframes, such as the Bisley, the
Birdshead, the Thunderer or the Lightning style gripframes.  Please check your revolver to make sure you
do not have one of these, or send us a photo of your gripframe if you are
unsure. We make grips for all of these different styles which you can find in
our store, so please email if you have any questions or cannot find what you
need.  A photo would of your gripframe or
grips be helpful.
2.  ALSO
PLEASE NOTE
, as a reminder, these grips are made for STANDARD SIZED grip frames ONLY and WILL NOT FIT any larger (taller) 1860 Army sized grip frames.  Please check your grip frame measurement
prior to ordering
Your
grips or grip frame should measure somewhere between 3-1/16 – 3-1/8” tall, depending on how you hold your ruler,
tape, or caliper.
Some revolvers use
a taller 3-3/8” 1860 Army sized grip.
Taylor & Co.’s Gunfighter or
Gunfighter Defender
, Taylor’s Cattleman
44 Mag.,
Cimarron’s Bad Boy, the El Patron Grizzly Paw, and the Uberti Callahan, for example, have a taller 3-3/8”
grip frame.   If you have one of these,
our Uberti 1860 Army “Conversion & Metallic Cartridge” grips will fit these
revolvers.  Please see our store and
search under the proper category or email us if you cannot find what you need.
IN SUMMARY: 1) Make sure you have the standard “plowhandle” shaped 3-1/8”
gripframe and not the taller 3-3/8” frame, and that your revolver was made by
UBERTI; and 2) please send us the two-digit code found on your revolver (as
shown in the second photo), and the first three digits of your serial number,
including the prefixed letter if there is one.
Please contact us
if you cannot find what you need, or if you have any questions.  We are always happy to help.
A note on
the Italian-produced Revolvers:
The
Italian firms, located in Northern Italy, have been making SAA style revolvers
now for well over a half century, and have made a huge number of makes and
models and grip frame profiles with varying configurations over the years.  We have an in-depth knowledge of the
differing grip configurations, have a large library of gripframe variations
from the various makers both old and new, and have vast experience making grips
for Uberti, Pietta, Armi San Marco, and the other Italian gunmaking firms.   Our experienced makers go to great lengths
to ensure an exacting fit, including utilizing modern precision CNC production
techniques, as well as incorporating old-time hand tuning and hand checking the
fit of every grip on our reference frames prior to leaving our factory.  We have a long list of many satisfied
customers in the shooting industry who have purchased grips to use in a wide
variety of applications, and we can safely and confidently guarantee proper fit
and finish to your complete satisfaction.
For an additional
charge, custom fitting is an option.
Arizona Custom Grips
Handcrafted on an individual Custom basis out
of Magna-Tusk™, our solid, dense proprietary substrate which is formulated out
of natural materials for an authentic look and feel, and which yields a
finished product which is the ultimate rendition of the classic stag grips of
the golden era of Westerns.   Better
materials and our proprietary pigmenting process yields a finished product better
than the originals.  These grips are
milled from a solid slab and are not cast.
This avoids the inclusions, air pockets, and most importantly the cheap
"cast plastic" look found in the urethane and other imitation
materials commonly available.  Like natural
grips, with use and handling over time they will form an authentic patina and
will only improve with age.  They look
better, age better, and perform better.
And perhaps best of all, these grips are made entirely in the U.S.A.!
Gun prop and
holster not included -- only the grips are for sale. Please note that the grips
shown are a stock photo used for illustration purposes only.  Your grips will be individually hand cut and
appear similar to these.
The
"B-Western":
These
"B-Western" Style Custom grips are hand-carved one-at-a-time in recognition
of one of America's most outstanding and lasting cultural achievements of the
20th century -- the "B-Western." Styled after the grips seen on the
revolvers of classic Hollywood Westerns of the 1930's to the 1960's (the
"golden era of Hollywood Westerns"), these grips were featured in
numerous Western productions both on Television and on the Silver Screen.
Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rifleman, Rawhide, The Virginian, and many others too
numerous to mention, all took America back to a simpler time and place. Times
have changed, but the lessons and values of that unforgettable period still
have a place in the hearts of millions of Americans and many other Western fans
throughout the world who appreciate the enduring contribution to our culture
and society made by the unique and colorful characters of the Old West.
Arizona Custom Stag™ Grips:
These grips
are completely unique, custom, and one-of-a-kind. Each is hand cut, and no two
are the same.  You will not find another
set like them on any gun at any Western event, guaranteed! Hand made in
painstaking, exacting detail to authentic feel and dimensions. We strive for
museum quality with every pair.
Arizona
Custom Stag™
  looks, feels, and ages like the genuine
product, with durability far exceeding Ivory (Ivory is a relatively fragile
material, which often cracks under stress and age).  Magna-Tusk™, our Premier Grade product used
in these grips, is filled with natural materials, and works and polishes as well
as looks like the real thing. It takes carving with superior detail and
definition, and accurately captures that authentic, weathered, deep, dark
chocolate brown/black color in the bark pattern sought after by stag
collectors. With age, it develops a soft, mellow patina which makes it indistinguishable
from the more expensive and fragile product.
These grips
are used in professional applications where only the best will do.  We have supplied these grips to Hollywood and
other locations that demand only the best in durability, design, and authenticity.  We cut no corners, and make every grip with
the intention of it being a grip which will last a lifetime.  A fine revolver deserves a fine grip.  If you have been looking for the ultimate
B-Western grip, you won't be disappointed!!
The durability
and excellent aging characteristics of these grips are enhanced by our
exclusive and permanent bonded pigment application process which, once cured,
won't chip, crack, or peel like superficially applied paint products found on
less expensive grips.  Accept no
substitutes.
Arizona
Custom Stag™
adds
a touch of class and realism which is completely lost by using lesser quality
"cast plastic" imitations available elsewhere.
Grip screws
included with all grips.  As with all
Single Action grips, minor fitting may be, but is not usually, required due to
small variations in grip frames.  Full
instructions included with all grips.
The
distinctive qualities and authentic presentation of
Arizona
Custom Stag™
  offers an authentic look, heft and feel which
invoke the aura and spirit of the Old West.
Guaranteed to please even the most discriminating collector and Western
memorabilia aficionado. Full money back, less shipping, if not fully satisfied!
If returning, please note that the product must be returned in original,
unaltered condition.
Remember, above all:
Ride Hard, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth! Happy Trails!!
