MAGNA-TUSK™
ivory GRIPS
Milled
out of a solid block of Magna-Tusk, denser and heavier than regular Ivory or
Stag. See below for details.
The
Uberti Birdshead is the ideal concealable revolver for today’s Western
enthusiast. The Bird’s Head grip design has been incorporated into Uberti’s Cattleman series
of 1873 Single Action Army revolvers in both standard and Stallion designs.
They are available in various barrel lengths and calibers.
The Bird’s Head grip was originally designed for Colt
Derringers in the 1850s. In 1877, Colt incorporated the distinctive and
comfortable grip style into full-frame revolvers called Bird’s Head
Colts.

oNE-PIECE (nO SCREWHOLE) STYLE
THIS
AUCTION IS FOR OUR ONE-PIECE (NO SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS. SEE BELOW.
********
A
Choice for Every User! Two-Piece grips, in addition to a visible screw, have a
grip pin installed in the grip frame to help hold them in place. One-Piece grips (grips with no visible screw)
use a spacer between the panels, with no screw and no grip pin. Our grips will interchange and work on
either style of grip frame. See
below.
One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips
which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user
installed spacer (included with the grips) between the grip panels, as seen on
many of the early Colts. This results in
a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw.
Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look,
One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and
pulling the grip and backstrap backwards.
Reinstallation is in reverse order.
Our One-Piece style grips will work on either style gripframe (either
One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip frames).
Alternatively, our Two-Piece style
grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of
quick grip removal. Unlike with
One-Piece grips, the backstrap need not be removed to remove the grips for
cleaning and maintenance of the revolver.
Our Two-Piece grips include a free Conversion kit (allowing their use on One-Piece style frames) which
replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows
the grips to lock up tight, allowing no movement. This
requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the
ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your
revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were
also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic
historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by
many collectors.
Fully illustrated, detailed instructions
are included with each set of grips. 07082200

WHAT
THESE WILL FIT (Please read this through in its entirety):
Brand New, unused grips for the
UBERTI BIRDSHEAD 1873 Single Action Army style revolvers. These
grips will fit all Uberti Birdshead
revolvers, no matter who they are marketed through in the United States (Navy
Arms, Cimarron, Taylors & Co., Stoeger, etc.).
*PLEASE NOTE – IMPORTANT!!:
If your Birdshead revolver is a “Doc Holliday” 1873 Cattleman birdshead, a
“Uberti Bonney” 1873 Cattleman birdshead,
a “Kenda Leseigne (CMS Pro) birdshead”,
a “Cattleman Stallion” birdshead, or a
“Uberti Short Stroke CMS Pro” birdshead,
please let us know via email immediately after the purchase, as these have special
grip requirements. Also, if you could
send a picture of your gripframe, that would be helpful.
WHAT THESE WILL NOT FIT: this auction is for a Birdshead style grip, which has a smooth
curve on the backstrap, and will NOT
fit the somewhat similar Thunderer style revolvers (also made by Uberti and
marketed by Cimarron), which have a hump on the backstrap. Please
take a look at the pictures carefully to note the difference. If you
have a Thunderer style grip, please visit our store or check our other auctions
to find the correct grip. Or you can also click “Uberti” under our
Store Categories section at the left of this page.
Please send us an email and tell us your
specific model if you cannot locate what you need, or if you have any
questions. We are always happy to help.
A note on the Italian-produced

Arizona Custom Grips
About Magna-Tusk™ Ivory
and Stag Grips:
Magna-Tusk™ Ivory and Stag grips, a
product of Arizona Custom Grips, are manufactured out of our
high-grade, high density ivory material designed from the beginning as a premium,
high-strength grip material. Vastly
superior to standard bonded ivory or stag found on most factory and other
aftermarket grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil
and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today,
while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag. It is
rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is
flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the
strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike
with real ivory or stag, there is no routine care and maintenance involved,
with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if
left in the heat. It is filled with premium natural compounds to
produce outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical
performance. When aged with our natural aging process, it takes on
the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which many
experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material
has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic
relief work, etc., found on many historic grips.
