  MAGNA-TUSK

JOHN WAYNE FINGERGROOVE STYLE

Aged IVORY GRIPS

Hand cut in the
famous John Wayne Fingergroove style featured in many of his most famous
Westerns, such as
True Grit, The War Wagon, The Cowboys, and Rooster Cogburn.  These grips are made out of our exclusive
Magna-Tusk™ Ivory, then aged to perfection -- the highest quality grips of
their type ever available.   An exclusive
of Arizona Custom Grips.

What these will fit:
(Please read thoroughly)

This auction is for a
set of Genuine Magna-Tusk™ grips for the INTERARMS VIRGINIAN DRAGOON revolvers.
The Virginian revolvers were produced from 1973 to 1984 and were offered
in a number of calibers and configurations.

Please note that Interarms originally imported the Hammerli (Swiss) made
Virginian” revolver from 1973 to
1976, after which time Interarms began manufacturing the “VIRGINIAN DRAGOON” revolver in the United States.  The U.S. made Virginian Dragoon revolver is a
heavier and more robust revolver than the smaller Hammerli version, and uses
different grips.

These grips will only
fit the heavier U.S. made VIRGINIAN DRAGOON revolvers, and will NOT fit the earlier
Swiss made Hammerli “Virginian” revolver.

These two revolvers can easily be distinguished.  The U.S. made VIRGINIAN DRAGOON revolver has
a solid one-piece gripframe (i.e., the backstrap and the triggerguard are all
one solid piece), whereas the Hammerli version has a screw at the bottom of the
gripframe holding the triggerguard to the backstrap, similar to the Colt
SAA.  Please check the bottom of your
gripframe and verify that there is NO bottom screw.  See the photo for a closeup view of the correct
U.S. made VIRGINIAN DRAGOON frame.  There
should be NO screw.

In addition, because of varying grip pin placement in the Virginian
revolvers over the years, we have made the grip pin holes slightly
oversized.  For optimum fit, a small
amount of epoxy or J.B. Weld (not included) will be required to partially fill
the oversized grip pin holes in the back of the grip to bed the grips for the
optimum fit when first putting on the grips.
Full, easy to follow instructions included with the grips.

If you have any questions or are unsure if you have the correct
revolver, please drop us an email.  We
will be happy to help.

For an additional
charge, custom fitting is an option.  We can also make a custom
fitted grip if you have the Hammerli version.
Please contact us for further details if you are interested in custom
fitting.

Arizona Custom Grips

About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips:

Magna-Tusk™ Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona
Custom Grips
, are manufactured out of our super high-grade, ultra-high
density Ivory material developed exclusively for our premium grip
production.  Vastly superior to standard
bonded ivory found on factory and other aftermarket Ivory grips, Magna-Tusk™ is
capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest
alternative ivory material available today, while still retaining the pristine
look of real ivory.  It is completely
rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant.  It is flame and heat resistant, and is
entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact
resistance of alternative materials.
Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance
involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained
properly or if left in the heat.  It is
filled with premium natural and synthetic compounds to produce outstanding
aesthetic properties and mechanical performance.  When aged with our exclusive aging process,
it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details
which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing.  In addition, the material has a fine grain
structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, imitation stag, etc.,
found on many historic grips.

About Our Aging Process:  The best Aged Ivory grips start
with the best materials.  Unlike the
commonly available “solid yellow” plastic grips which detract from the
appearance and handling of a revolver or firearm, our Aged Ivory grips are made
out of the best components available, incorporate natural materials, and
feature a genuine, authentic patina.
Their authenticity is so convincing that many experts cannot tell it
apart from real Ivory.  The difference is
noticeable even in the photos, but is even more apparent in person.  These grips feature authentic color mottling,
variegation, and subtle wear marks as seen on many of the revolvers which
belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West.

We offer the
highest quality, most authentic imitation Aged Ivory grips available anywhere
on the market.

Our process
utilizes concentrated UV light (the essential aging property in natural
sunlight), and in addition employing heat and pressure in a special controlled
high oxygen-rich environment which accelerates the aging process.  Unlike a painted surface, our patina actually
extends below the surface, into
the grip material itself
.  Not
only does it look better to begin with, but will not chip, crack, or peel, like
superficially applied surfaces.  With our
exclusive aging process, these grips are outstanding right out of the box, and
will continue to improve over time.  The
more these grips are handled and used, just like any genuine patina, the better
they look!

Please note: We make every effort to
ensure the best fit possible.  Besides
using exacting standards and state-of-the art-equipment in our manufacturing
operations, every set of grips is hand checked on our test frame for proper fit
prior to leaving our factory.  This
ensures the best fit in the industry.
Occasionally, however, your grip pin may have been installed slightly
out of alignment or position, and you may find it necessary to slightly open up
the grip pin holes on the back of the grips to get the grips to seat
fully.  Full, easy to follow instructions
are provided with every set of grips.

Grip screw included with all grips.
